Level 5 gymnastics meet #1- Chocolate Classic

Soory this si late. This was from my familys blog Anderson Four Family..... On the first Saturday in October I had my first level 5 meet. It was in Everett, Washington which I at first thought was far away, it only took a little over an hour. The meet was pretty fun because we had the level 6's with us as well, because I've never competed with the level 6's. The meet started out warming up fine. except until I stubbed my toe which had been recently badly bruised. It barely affected the way I competed though. The first event we went to was the balance beam. Of course, my worst event. Except in this meet!!! I stuck all my skills, even my cartwheel, with only a few wobbles here and there. I earned a 8.4 from one judge, and a 8.2 from the other to give me a solid 8.3. Floor was next and I thought I had a pretty decent routine except for I took a couple of steps out of my front handspring and a few other minor mistakes. I got an 8.4 from one judge and a 8.3 from the other to get a 8.35. Next up was vault. I have a pretty decent middle-high 8 vault normally, but that vault had a really spring springboard and a really springy landing mat. I recieved a 7.6 which is fairly good considering I took 4 big steps on the first vault, and 2 on the second. The judges said without the steps I would have earned around an 8.5-8.8. Last was bars, normally my best event, but not this time. The bars were kind of noisy, which bothered me, and my dismount wasm't my best. I earned a 7.95. My all-around was a 32.2 which caused me to get second all-around and qaulified for state. (We don't have a sectionals this season.)I also got second on every event. Funny huh, because I always got 3rd in level 4 and now I got all 2nd places! Who knows, maybe in level 6 I'll get a lot of first places!!!!!
